Park Pins ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Park Pins mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address. Park Pins uses email sign-in with a one-time code, so we do not collect or store a password. You also choose a username that identifies you to other users in the App.
Profile Information
You may optionally upload a profile photo (avatar). Avatars and other images you upload are stored securely in our cloud storage.
Park Visits
The App records the parks you mark as visited and the dates of those visits. This information powers your personal map, stats, and region ranks.
Photos & Posts
You may attach photos to your visits. If you choose to make a visit public, the photos and the associated park become visible to other users in the Explore feed. Photos you keep private are not shared.
Social Connections
The App lets you follow other users and be followed. We store your follow relationships so we can show you the relevant feeds and profiles.
Subscription Information
If you purchase a Basic or Premium subscription, or any other in-app purchase, Apple processes your payment through the App Store. We receive a transaction identifier to verify your purchase status but do not have access to your payment card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App
- Authenticate your identity and manage your account
- Power your map, visit history, stats, and region ranks
- Enable social features such as profiles, the feed, and following
- Process and verify purchases and subscriptions
- Respond to support inquiries
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- With other users: Your username, avatar, public posts, and public visit photos are visible to other users of the App. Stats are shared with other users only where the App and your plan allow it.
- Service providers: We use Supabase to host our backend infrastructure, database, and authentication, and Cloudflare R2 for image storage. These providers process your data on our behalf in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
- Apple App Store: Apple processes purchases and subscriptions and provides us with transaction identifiers to verify them.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
4. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services:
- Supabase — backend infrastructure, authentication, and database
- Cloudflare R2 — image and file storage
- Apple App Store — purchase and subscription processing
We do not currently use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
6. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (TLS), secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Object to or restrict processing of your information

9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
